Position Overview

As a Remote Customer Service Representative – Benefits Enrollment Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for client employees seeking information about their benefits, insurance options, and open enrollment processes. Working on behalf of careerzynith's high-profile clients, you will handle 30 to 40 inbound calls daily, providing clear, accurate, and compassionate guidance on health, dental, vision, retirement, and insurance programs.

This role begins with a comprehensive paid training program at our El Paso, Texas location, after which you will transition to a 100% remote work arrangement. We are seeking candidates who are not only skilled communicators but also dedicated to building long-term careers in customer service, benefits administration, and client relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement: Receive and manage 30–40 inbound calls per day from a structured queue, addressing inquiries related to benefits, open enrollment, and insurance program details.
  • Benefits Education: Clearly explain and interpret the more complex aspects of company insurance programs, ensuring employees and their dependents fully understand their options and coverage.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Examine, assess, and consolidate data to deliver accurate information regarding benefits utilization, group insurance programs, and enrollment trends.
  • Program Improvement: Identify needs for modifications or changes in program design and administrative procedures, providing valuable feedback to internal teams and clients.
  • Enrollment Processing: Accurately record employee benefit elections, changes, and enrollment confirmations in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Multi-Channel Communication: Respond to customer inquiries via phone, with occasional email and chat interactions, ensuring a seamless and professional experience across all touchpoints.
  • Policy Adherence: Apply a deep understanding of benefit programs, company policies, and administrative procedures that exceed the standard benefit clerk function.
  • Reliability and Attendance: Demonstrate strong commitment to attendance, punctuality, and consistent availability during assigned shifts.

Training and Schedule Details

Training Period (First 3–4 Weeks)

  • Location: 1851 North Resler Drive, El Paso, Texas, 79911 (on-site training required)
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Start Dates: 9/30/2024 or 10/2/2024 (based on clearance and availability)

Post-Training Schedule

  • Work Arrangement: 100% remote after successful completion of training
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, assigned within Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturday Rotation: One Saturday per month (overtime eligible)
  • Schedule Stability: Schedules are assigned upon completion of training and remain consistent thereafter

Compensation and Contract Details

  • Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
  • Contract Length: 3-month contract with strong potential for growth, extension, or permanent placement based on performance and business demand

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Customer Service Experience: Previous professional experience in a customer-facing role where you assisted customers with questions, concerns, and issue resolution.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to explain complex information in a clear, friendly, and accessible manner.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable navigating multiple computer systems simultaneously, including Microsoft Outlook and Word, while engaging with customers on the phone.
  • Reliability: Demonstrated strong attendance record and commitment to consistent, dependable work performance.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to assess situations, identify needs, and recommend appropriate solutions or modifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in benefits administration, insurance, healthcare, or human resources support
  • Familiarity with open enrollment processes and group insurance programs
  • Experience working in a remote or hybrid environment
  • Bilingual capabilities (Spanish/English) are a strong plus
