Part-Time Instructor | Criminal Justice The Department of Criminal Justice invites applications for Part-Time Instructors for Fall 2026. Part-Time Instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester basis to teach Criminal Justice courses. The successful candidate is expected to teach introductory and advanced level courses in criminal justice, including criminology and research methods. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: teach face-to-face and/or online, attend training and/or review sessions. Additional duties will include, but are not limited to, academic advising of criminal justice students and criminal justice organizations, participating in program development and assessment. The candidate will be expected to work cooperatively with faculty and staff in the department and university. The mission of the Department of Criminal Justice is to educate students about criminology and the criminal justice system and to prepare them for advanced study and careers in government and the private sector. It has accomplished and talented instructors in law enforcement, criminal justice and forensic science-crime scene investigation. The department provides extra-curricular outlets to its students, such as the E.A. Ralston Criminal Justice Society, Alpha Phi Sigma Criminal Justice Honor Society and Aggie Sleuths, where students simulate real-life activities as crime scene investigators. Our students engage in internships and participate in ride along experiences with police officers. Candidates should have a J.D. or a Master's Degree or other related degree in Criminal Justice, Criminal Justice Administration, Criminology, Political Science, or related fields. Demonstrated excellence in teaching diverse populations, evidence of an active knowledge and two years' experience teaching Criminal Justice and/or Crime Scene Investigation courses is preferred.
