GE Vernova is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead the Engineering team in developing complex software systems for large-scale cloud-based applications in the power and electrical industry. This role involves providing strategic guidance, designing scalable systems, and collaborating with business leaders to meet the dynamic needs of the energy sector.

Responsibilities

  • Providing strategic guidance and architecture oversight to ensure high software standards and adherence to best practices
  • Designing scalable, secure, and reliable systems tailored to meet the dynamic needs of the energy sector
  • Evaluating and selecting technologies to optimize software performance, scalability, and long-term innovation
  • Partnering with business leaders to translate complex challenges into effective technical requirements
  • Facilitating clear, cross-functional collaboration with internal teams, contractors, and executive leadership
  • Driving continuous improvement in Maintenance and Product Backlog Management by monitoring KPIs and delivery commitments
  • Monitoring advancements in cloud computing and power systems to provide strategic guidance that maintains a competitive edge

Skills

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years in engineering leadership or NPI delivery, specifically within large-scale cloud development
  • 5+ years of expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • 3+ years of experience in Agile and DevOps methodologies
  • Proficiency in data aggregation, analytics tools, and integrated ERP environments
  • Practical experience with IoT, real-time systems, and digital core systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Asset Health, maintenance, engineering processes, and operations within industrial settings (e.g., LNG, refining, petrochemical, or offshore assets) will be an added advantage
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaborative abilities, with a proven capacity to excel in fast-paced, dynamic environments
