This role offers an opportunity to provide specialized education services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing through telehealth platforms. The position is designed as a 1099 contract arrangement and is based in Dolomite, AL. It focuses on delivering tailored instruction, support, and assessments to enhance communication and learning outcomes for these students. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting remote evaluations and ongoing assessments for students with hearing impairments.
  • Designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Collaborating virtually with families, educators, and related service providers to support student progress.
  • Utilizing telehealth technologies to deliver effective instruction and communicate clearly.
  • Maintaining detailed records of student performance and service delivery.
  • Providing professional guidance on assistive listening devices and communication strategies.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • Certification or licensure in teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Proven experience with telepractice services in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of auditory and visual communication methodologies.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and hearing aid devices.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage students remotely.
  • Understanding of IDEA and other relevant educational laws and policies.
